The beauty of the mountain

We had such a great time at Trillium Lake last month, we wanted to bring Grammy and Grampy to visit too. We had the perfect day for hiking around the lake, and getting a few pictures to remember the visit. We topped off the trip by having lunch at Timberline lodge, where we enjoyed more clear views of some of the neighboring mountains.

Multnomah Falls

We made a quick stop to check out the falls on the way up to Mt. Hood today. For those of you aware of how much Emma dislikes getting her photo taken these days....this photo is nothing less than a miracle!

The epic journey

After eating our "light" breakfast at the farmer's market, we decided to trek down to wine country for some wine tastings. It was a beautiful day, with some great views of the vineyards.

We didn't want to the fun to end, so we then decided to head on over to Cannon beach to take in some of the ocean air. I do believe that Emma enjoyed this portion of the trip a little more than the former part, although she wasn't a huge fan of getting splashed with the icy waters of the Pacific!

The Reggie Deluxe

We headed to the downtown farmer's market to start off our Saturday. Emma was thoroughly enjoying her egg and cheese biscuit on the steps of PSU, while the rest of us were sampling the goodness of fried chicken, egg, and cheese on a fresh buscuit, smothered in gravy! Mmm, mmm, good!

Slim huckleberry Pickin's

We made our annual trip up to Mt Adams for huckleberry picking today. I am extremely sad to report that the berry fields were a little scarce on the berries this year. Emma did end up picking quite a few berries, however only about 5 berries actually made it in her bag to bring home. She had a full belly of berries for the long trek back home. We did manage to find yet another wonderfully scenic spot to pick berries this year--near the natural bridges in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
