Drinkin'

Emma was eyeing my glass of water at dinner tonight, so I thought I'd give her a shot of water in her own glass.  She started off trying to chew the glass and then flipped her head back to take a big gulp.  She was quite shocked when the water ended up in her mouth, so much so that she spit it right back out.   After a little banging the glass on her tray, and licking the remnants of cracker crumbs that had collected on the bottom of the glass--it was off to the bath for this messy girl.

E is for Emma

Emma is really enjoying playing with her new blocks.  We usually find her crawling around the house with a block in her mouth.  Seems we might have a little puppy on our hands now.

Next stop Mt. Hood

Emma was able to get lots of practice climbing stairs at Grandpa and Grandma's.  We were pretty surprised that she was able to climb so many stairs, but I think her motivation came from her cousin Haley at the top of the stairs showing her all the cool toys that were up there.

Fun and Games at Grandpa and Grandma's

Emma enjoyed playing at Grandpa and Grandma T's alot.  Emma spent a fair amount of time going through the magazine rack trying to find something she hadn't read yet, while Ken was burning off some of those Christmas cookies on the Wii Fit.  Grandpa was teaching her how to play cards (it looks like Emma is trying to guess which card Grandpa is holding, but she is really trying to devise a way to get as many cards in her mouth as possible).  Since Grandpa wouldn't let her eat as many cards as she wanted, Emma discovered that crackers are pretty tasty too.  She really liked having cracker breaks with Grandma.

Baby Shower for Aunt Stacy

Emma's aunt Stacy is going to have a baby this March, so we threw her a baby shower while we were in town.  We can't wait for our new niece to arrive.  Emma got to see some of her great aunts and 2nd cousins at the party too.

Christmas in Minnesota

The second leg of our midwest trip was in Minnesota visiting my family.  Emma may not really understand what Christmas all entails, but she sure liked all the attention she got from Grandpa and Grandma, her aunts and uncles, and especially her almost 3 year old cousin, Haley.  Haley and Emma went on a swimming outing while we were in MN, and Emma had a great time racing Haley across the pool and playing motorboat.
