Cookie Cuties

Emma's friend Leni came over for a play date today, and they had a craving for...Cookies!  So these cute little cooks whipped up some very delicious chocolate chip cookies to snack on during a break from their tent building and music playing.

SacTown

Our dear friends John and Angela moved just outside of Sacramento, CA this past fall.  We had the pleasure of going to visit for the weekend, and had lots of fun.  Emma was truely impressed with the train museum, and the train ride she got to take with John and Angela.  She was also reunited with her canine pal, Marty.  We can't wait until our next trip!

Mountain sledding

We headed up to Mt Hood for some good ol' fashioned sleeding. It was not quite the same as sledding in the Midwest, and we certainly made some rookie mistakes. We opted to go to the free hill without a tow rope (mistake #1). Although the hills we went sledding down were not as big as the ones I remember growing up (or maybe it's because I'm a little bigger now :)), they were certainly much more difficult to climb back up to the top. We underestimated the amount of fresh snow that falls in the mountains (mistake #2). Lets just say ken and I sank about thigh deep into the snow when we mis-stepped--which we did quite often. We didn't stay out too long though, as we only brought two pairs of gloves for emma, and neither of them were water proof (Mistake #3). This probably saved Ken and I from having a heart attack trying to climb through thigh deep snow, back up the hill though. All turned out well. Emma did not get frost bite! And we stopped at the Huckleberry Inn in Government Camp for some of their tasty huckleberry pie before heading home. Next time--we invest in warmer gloves and the hill with the tow rope though!

Runway Model

Emma is taking her ambulation skills to the next level. I have to say, she has surpassed my high-heel walking abilities, and may actually have a career in high-heel tap dancing!

Blueberry pancakes

Emma and Carter helped Grammy whip up some yummy blueberry pancakes for breakfast.  We have some aspiring chefs on our hands!

Hide and seek at the Park

Emma and I had a rousing game of hide and seek at the park near Grammy and Grampys house. All the laughing and running was a good way to keep warm too! Emma also discovered how to balance the tire swing when she didn't have a friend with her (she experimented with me sitting on one side, but soon learned that didn't work so well!).
