13 weeks old today.  This is what happens when I don't strap Addie into the bouncy chair now.  I guess this is her way of letting us know we are nearing the "mobile" stage.

Meet the newest Ladybug

Addie acclimated well to the ladybug room...taking 3 bottles on her first day, and even offering up a few smiles and a belly laugh.  She certainly turned on her charm, and has her teachers enamored with her already! 

First day back at work...

It was bittersweet, but luckily I have some  pretty awesome co-workers who welcomed me back "home"!

First day of daycare

Family photos before we stepped out the door to Addie's first day of daycare.  We all got out the door in a timely manner, but it took me a little longer to actually leave her at daycare.   Many tears were shed...by mom.  Addie did fine, and seemed to adjust quickly!  Emma was thrilled to have Addie joining her at school! 

Last day of maternity leave

Addie and I spent our last day of my maternity leave snuggling and playing together at home.  It was a lovely day.  I'm lucky to have a new job to go back to that will hopefully be very fulfilling, but unfortunately I don't think it will make leaving my sweet baby any easier!

Only in Portland...

...can you find Mommy and Me acupuncture.  Okay, maybe you can find it elsewhere too, but it is definitely weird enough to be Portland based!  Just to clarify, the acupuncture portion was for the Mom's only, and the babes just got to hang out on our laps.  Addie seemed to enjoy it, and we both took a little nap during the session, so it was fun for me too!

Lil' sis fights back

Addie shows Emma her spin on fighting back...she's got quite the hand grasp, and Emma can attest that it does not feel great when she uses her strength to pull hair!

Adeline took tummy time to the next level today when she decided to roll onto her back on her own. This is one proud girl!

Bakers hours

Emma was keeping bakers hours tonite...well almost.  She couldn't sleep, so she was very excited when I let her help roll out the dough for cinnamon rolls.    This was around 9 pm. I figured I might as well photograph her making her first cinnamon rolls since she was wide awake. At 10pm she had crawled into our bed.  She finally fell asleep by 10:15! No sleeping in the next morning either..she was up by 5:45.

I'm one lucky mama that gets to wake up to this smiling face every morning.  She has been cooing when I walk into her room to get her now too.  It definitely helps get your day off to a good start, even if that start is earlier than you would like it to be!

Emma has grown some invisible springs in her feet, and is never shy about showing us how high she can jump (or how silly she can be)!

Homework and 11 weeks old

Addie had her orientation to daycare this past week, and her new teacher, Sr. Lang made her a blanket, and gave her some homework.  She is suppose to work on tummy time every day.  Addie's looking like she wants to be the star student at her new daycare...as she was doing a serious workout, pulling herself up!  She was pleased with herself after her hard workout, and was ready to relax in the boppy!

The cure for spring heat

babysitting 101

Emma tried her hand at "babysitting" while Mom and Dad took a 5 minute break.  I think Addie was a happy customer, and would gladly be under Emma's care again.  Emma took photos to show us the fun they had (top pic), and I had to take a picture of the girls together to document the memorable occasion.

Proud mama moment

A few weeks ago Emma's church school class picked up trash for Earth Day. I guess it had a pretty big impact on her, as she took it upon herself to pick up trash on our way to the grocery store on Saturday. After finding bread laying along side the sidewalk, she said "what are people doing. Don't they know this just makes more work for everyone?" A couple lessons learned on our walk to Safeway this morning!

Sleepover

We decided Emma and Cash were well overdue for a sleepover, so we had some fun in the sun, before it was time to settle in for movie night in the basement! Free Willy was a hit (for the 10th time for Emma), and Cash liked it too!

First ER visit

Luckily (at least for the girls!), they weren't the patient in this scenario. The bright side to the early morning ER trip (kidney stone for Ken) is that we found out everyone could get out of the house in a hurry when necessary!

Hipster

Chores!

Emma has been helping out around the house more lately. She decided that it was time she moved up from dish dryer, to the more prestigious dish washer. She did a fine job, so we decided to keep her on in that role for awhile!
